Next 200 hour Yoga teacher training, an accredited course with Yoga Alliance


This is a specifically designed course to give you a fabulous understanding of yoga, from the ancient roots to the physiological benefits. This course now offers 200hours of contact time over 5-6months and will be run from ‘thestudio’, 1140 Nepean Hwy, Mornington.

Yoga Teacher Training Modules

The biggest component of the course is Techniques, training and Practice, we will teach you asana techniques, alignment, injury prevention, different yoga styles, benefits of posture, meditation and pranayama.(75 hours)

Anatomy and Physiology; this includes functional body, biomechanical anatomy and how to use it in your practice and  how important it is in teaching. We will also teach the foundations of spiritual anatomy or and how it works on a subltebody/pranic level. (30hours)

Professional Essentials and Teaching Methodology is another large aspect of our training. You need to know how to apply what you have learnt, get practice time up the front of the class, learn how to deal with people, bodies and running a business. How to use social media, network, integrate your yoga into your existing work life and run a professional, ethical business. (65h hours)

Then there is Yoga Humanities where you study the fascinating history and philosophy of Yoga, touching on the Patanjali Sutras, 8 limbs of Yoga and Yama and Nyamas. This component may take us on a weekend retreat enabling us to emmerse ourselves in true Yogic lifestyle (30 hours)

Sun Feb 23rd 9-5pm Yoga humanities, 8 limbs of Yoga and Yama and Nyamas

Sat March 21st 8.30-5pm Pilates core class until 9.30  History of Yoga, learning the reasons why we do what we do

Sun March 22nd 9-5pm yoga asana practice(2hrs) and Yoga Philosophy, Patanjali Sutras

(This is a possible offsite day retreat at a lovely retreat centre in Point Leo)

Sat April18th 8.30-5pm, Pilates core class until 9.30am, asana techniques, practice, benefits of posture, touching on yoga humanities again

Sun April 19th 9-5pm asana alignment and practice, pranayama, meditation, more on Patanjali sutras

Sat May 2nd 8.30-5pm functional anatomy and relevance to practice

Sun May 3rd  9-5pm biomechanical anatomy and spiritual anatomy

Sat June 13th 8.30-5pm Pilates core class until 9.30am,asana and teaching methodology

Sun June 14th 9-5pm class design, sequencing and teaching practice, Meditation

Sat July 11th 8.30-5pm asana and teaching practice, Mudras and Bundas

Sun July 12th 9-5pm asana and how to adjust for different bodies, Pranyama

Sat August 1st 8.30-5pm Pilates core class until 9.30am, the business of yoga

Sun August 2nd 9-5pm  how to start a business, marketing, targeting, social media

Sunday August 23rd 9-1pm  Chakras, yoga nidra

Sat September 12th 8.30-5pm Pilates core class until 9.30, chakras and teaching practice, syllabus design and lesson planning

Sun September 13th 9-5pm asana and teaching practice

Sat October 3rd 8.30-5pm teaching practice, tips syllabus design and lesson planning

Sun October 4th 9-5pm teaching tips and assessments,

Sat October 24th 8.30-5pm assessments and feedback

Sun October 25th 9-5pm final feedback, ceremony and closing circle to finish the 200hr course

Most sessions will include Relaxation/Pranayama and Meditation and Sooooooo much more………including a first Aid course available in May  

The Yoga Teacher Training Instructors

Your head instructor Anna Taylor has practiced and taught Yoga for over 26 years mostly in Australia, but also in India, England and Egypt.  Anna is a Pilates strength and core work practitioner and has practiced many forms of meditation. Anna also loves the outdoors and is often seen mountain biking, surfing, horse riding or skiing. She understands that the only way she is able to continue being so active is because of Yoga.

Anna is a certified Yoga instructor with yoga Alliance International, has a Yoga apprentiship of 23years with The Dance of Life(before Yoga certification was available in Australia) She is a level 3 Pilates practitioner with the Pilates Institute of Australasia. She has a Batchelor of Arts and Diploma in Education. Anna is also qualified in Chinese Meridian Massage, Relaxation, Sports and Remedial, Kahuna Body work, Reiki, Lomi Lomi, Seated Chair Massage, and meditation techniques.

Anna is a very passionate instructor and practitioner of Yoga. Yoga is truly a big part of her life, she has been running The Business of Yoga for 17 years employing other practitioners to work in the Corporate and private arena. She uses her many years of bodywork and movement to implement and teach you the best way forward for your body and mind.

The other main Instructor will be Layananda Grady.

Layananda is a swami of the Dashnami order of Sannyasa, Bihar School of Yoga, India. Trained as a yoga teacher, meditation teacher and yoga therapist, Laya spend 15 years living in an ashram environment practicing and studying these techniques in order to share with humanity.  She now share her deep knowledge and experience with regular classes and has been highly involved in teaching and implementing Yoga teacher training courses for many years.

In 2002 she was initiated into Tantric Tibetan Buddhism that deepened her practice and enhanced her knowledge of the mind/body complex. She further studied counselling that opened up more avenues and began to work on Yoga Teacher Trainings as a Senior Teacher, Lecturer, counsellor as well as coordinating the Level I & II trainings for 6 years in Australia and Bali.

There will also be other wonderfully experienced and professional teachers along the way.  Each teacher will be brought in to give you the best understanding of their speciality in this profession.
